The DeKalb County Yearbook is a guide to County Government offices as well as other units of government within the County. It includes a list of Elected Officials serving DeKalb County, Illinois, all the way up to the President of the United States. Since there are elections in Illinois every year, affecting leaders in State and Local Government, we update our directory throughout the year.

Elected Officials: DeKalb County Precinct Committeepersons
Precinct Committeepersons are elected at the General Primary Election (every two years) as per Illinois Election Code. DeKalb County currently has 69 precincts.
These committeepersons make up each party’s Central Committee. By law, they select a Chair on the 29th day succeeding the Primary in the General Election, which is held in the even numbered years [10 ILCS 5/7-9 (a)]. The Chair sets the direction for the party and may fill vacancies among the precinct committeepersons.
Duties of Precinct Committeepersons include helping their party’s candidates, organizing fund-raisers, and providing assistance and information for the voters in their precinct. You can find your committeepersons by clicking on the link that goes with the party of your choice.
