Notice is hereby given that petitions for Nomination/Election for the following offices to be voted upon at the March 17, 2026 General Primary Election will be filed with the DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder at the locations and times listed below:
Established Party Petition Filing Period: Monday, October 27 – Monday, November 3, 2025
Regular Filing Location: DeKalb County Administration Building
2nd Floor, Election Division
110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL 60178
Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
First Day of Filing – Monday, October 27, 2025:
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Initial Filing Location: Garden Room, Lower Level
DeKalb County Administration Building
110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL 60178
Last Day of Filing – Monday, November 3, 2025:
Filing hours extended until 5:00 p.m.
Ballot Placement:
Ballot placement will be determined by the order in which petitions are filed. If two or more candidates for the same office are in line at 8:30 a.m. on the first day of filing or file during the last hour (4:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.) on the final day of filing, a Simultaneous Filing Lottery will be held to determine their ballot order.
If needed, the Simultaneous Filing Lottery will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Administration Building’s Conference Room East, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL 60178.
