Voter Data Lists
Voter data lists contain public voter registration information maintained in accordance with Illinois election law. These lists are commonly requested for lawful purposes such as political activity, government business, research, and other uses permitted by law.
The DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder’s Office provides voter data lists upon request, subject to statutory requirements and use limitations.
What Information Is Included
Voter data lists may include public voter registration information such as:
- Voter name
- Registered address
- Voting status
- Party affiliation (where applicable)
- Voting history (participation only; how a voter voted is never disclosed)
Sensitive personal information is not included in voter data lists.
Who May Request Voter Data
Voter data lists may be requested by individuals or entities for lawful purposes permitted under Illinois law, including:
- Candidates and political committees
- Government agencies conducting official business
- Researchers or members of the public with a qualifying purpose
Requests must meet the requirements of the Illinois Election Code regarding permissible use of voter registration data.
How to Request a Voter Data List
To request a voter data list:
- Review the Voter Data Request Procedures document
- Complete the Voter Data Request Form
- Submit the completed form to the Elections Office (by mail, email, or in person)
Once received, staff will review the request and follow up regarding availability, format options, and any applicable fees.

Fees & Formats
Voter data lists are typically provided in electronic format. Fees may apply to cover the cost of preparing and delivering the data, as allowed by law. Requesters will be notified of any applicable fees before the data is released.
Privacy & Use of Voter Data
Voter data lists provided by the DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder’s Office include only information that is public under Illinois law. Sensitive personal information is not released.
Illinois law limits how voter registration data may be used. Voter data lists are provided for permitted, lawful purposes and may not be used for commercial solicitation or other prohibited uses.
Requesters are responsible for ensuring their use of voter data complies with applicable state and federal law. The Clerk’s Office may deny future requests if data is misused, as allowed by law.
